We are Updating Your Pictures We like to keep a record of our members and want to have a picture on file of each of you. We are updating pictures so please stop by the Office to get your picture made at your earliest convenience. School Days Photos Wanted Summertime is coming and it’s the time that school kids have been waiting for all year; the ending of the school year. To celebrate, we are asking you to help us out by bringing in a picture of you when you were “school age”. Be sure that you have your name on the back of the photo and we will make a copy for our board. Let’s see how much you have changed over the past “few” years. It will be lots of fun if you help us out by bringing in your pictures. Bible Study The staff from HillCrest Baptist Church will be leading Bible Study each Wednesday morning at 10:00 during the month of April. Educational Activities: Medicare Entitlement, Rights and Options What are your rights and options when you are a Medicare recipient? Make the most of your benefits and don’t be taken advantage of. It’s your right. Yvonne Hunter will be at the Center on Friday, May 17th at 10:30 to speak to you about what you are entitled to as a Medicare recipient. Caregiver Support Group In our Caregiver Support Group meeting in April we will take part in the Dementia Experience. If you have someone in your life who has been diagnosed with Dementia, come and take part in this program so that you can relate to what they are experiencing. Our meeting this month will be Thursday, May 9th at 8:30. Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions ** Date Change** If you or someone that you care for has heart disease, arthritis, COPD, diabetes, asthma, chronic pain, cancer, depression or any other chronic disease, the “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions” workshop can help you take charge of your life. You will get the support that you need and learn practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue. You will also learn about better nutrition and exercise choices as well as learning better ways to talk with your health care providers and your family about your health. We will be hosting this 6 week class on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 until 3:00 beginning June 5th. Please call the office to sign up for the class. The class will be led by Shelly Barnes, FCS Extension Agent and Wanda Briddelle, an Extension Volunteer. There is no charge for the class. Pre-registration is required.
