The Criminal Investigations Division is responsible for performing the investigative functions of the Lebanon Police Department. This division is comprised of one Lieutenant, one Sergeant, eight investigators, support staff and is overseen by the CID Captain. Investigators are assigned cases daily based on review by the CID Lieutenant.
When a report is filed, the report is forwarded from patrol to the Lieutenants office, where it is reviewed and the determination is made if the case will be assigned out for further investigation. This decision is based on the solvability factors of a crime along with the severity of the crime, and the current case load of the detectives.
